The LOTTE Championship Celebrates Its 8th Year with the LPGA on Oahu!
The 2019 LOTTE Championship returns to West Oahu April 14 through 20. The 8th annual LPGA event will feature a star-studded field of marquee pros who grace the world stage of ladies’ professional golf including defending champion Brooke Henderson, Lydia Ko, Hyo Joo Kim, Inbee Park, So Yeon Ryu and past champions Cristie Kerr, Sei Young Kim, Minjee Lee and Hawaii’s own Michelle Wie. Tournament week tees up April 14 with official LPGA competition starting on Wednesday, April 17. The 2019 champion will dance a victory hula after the final round on Saturday, April 20.
Our 2018 champion Brooke Henderson shot a 3-under, 69 in the final round last year to finish with a score of 12-under 276. During the final round held on Saturday, April 15, Henderson dominated Ko Olina Golf Club on Oahu with a 69 in a difficult wind to take the LOTTE Championship by four strokes over Azahara Munoz at 12-under-par 276. The first Canadian to claim the title at the LOTTE Championship, the then-20-year-old Henderson took home a check of $300,000 after her win. It was her sixth LPGA win and her first in the 2018 season, the fourth consecutive year in which she had won an LPGA event.
Lotte has been the title sponsor of the LOTTE Championship since the inaugural event in 2012. They extended its title sponsorship of the LPGA tournament in Hawaii through the year 2020.
